Greenbelt 2022

Magnificent!
That’s the only word to describe the TFM team at Greenbelt. Chris (Team Leader, who had the idea and put the work into organising this) Claire, Tom, Martin, Frank, Anne, Robert – and I was the substitute at the last minute!
This was the most intense mission I have ever been on – it is a festival so facilities were practically non existent, it is camping so physically demanding and it was a good workout spiritually!
Greenbelt is an ‘edgy’ place - a place of debate – with all views expressed, including the atheist and anti-Christian. There are some 12,000 people – where ‘inclusion’ is The Word. We had a stand where we could address any who came to us – we found there were lots of questions and lots of requests for prayer.
We had many people asking us about mission in their area, and we had hundreds of conversations about faith, hundreds of opportunities to talk Jesus and pray the Holy Spirit into situations.
As we were packing up the tents, we had a number of people stopping by and saying ‘we heard you worshipping and singing – thank you!’ As we were packing up the stall a man came up to me and said ‘Thank you for being here. Evangelical groups tend to walk away – we need you here – thank you!’
At the final team meeting we noted the struggle of this weekend – but we also agreed that this is where Jesus is – and if we are given the chance we would do it again!
